Dr. Goard is a new professor of neuroscience at UCSB recently recruited from MIT. He has dual appointments in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology and Psychological & Brain Sciences. Dr. Goard decodes the neural strategies for representing and processing sensory inputs. His lab uses novel imaging techniques to extract information from the mouse visual cortex. He is a recent winner of the NIH Pathway to Independence Award. Training & awards: Dr. Goard has degrees from Reed College and UC Berkeley. He trained at MIT where he won the NIH Pathway to Independence Award.
