Dr. Queenan is the associate director of the UCSB Brain Initiative. She assembles large, interdisciplinary teams capable of attacking the most fundamental questions in neuroscience. The teams are inventing new strategies for seeing brain activity, new diagnostic tests for detecting brain injury, and new strategies to combat neurodegeneration. Training & awards: Dr. Queenan was a Science of Learning Fellow at Johns Hopkins and a Ruth Kirchstein Fellow at Georgetown. She has a PhD in neuroscience from Georgetown and a degree in biochemistry from Harvard. She previously worked at Harvard Medical School, the Institut Pasteur, Thieme Medical Publishers, and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.
